I always forget how dear to me Memorial Day is, until it comes around again.
This Memorial Day I asked my sister to sing a song with me sung originally by the band Everly. The first time I heard the song, I was almost moved to tears, it was so dear, so I thought it would be a good tribute.
I think about my second cousin, 1st Lt. T. Shane Childers. He was the first casualty in the war for Iraq, and there is a lot of pride in my family about him. He was an incredibly special person.
I wanted to post the video as a "thank you," not as showing off our voices [which is good, because we didn't really sound all that fantastic.] However, I was almost moved to tears when a lady from my church whose husband was in the Army called me today, in tears, thanking me for the song. She explained that it had been an incredibly emotional weekend for her husband, remembering his friends who had been killed, and the video moved her so much.
That was so incredibly special to me. That is why I want to sing. For people, not for praise.
So please, enjoy...

The Start
This is where I start.
Why?
Because I have lots of things to share.
But where is the line between saying what is on your mind, and ranting and complaining?
Let me know when I have crossed that fine line.
